A few weeks ago we had the delightful pleasure of working with small batch, “super-premium” gin distillers, Beckett’s London Dry Gin. They needed professional images of their original London Dry Gin and their brand new, limited edition Sloe Gin, for their website and marketing materials. We spent a day in our studio in Fulham with the owner of Beckett’s London Dry Gin, Neil Beckett, creating images that were clean, fresh and to a high professional standard. After discussing and testing various set ups, lighting options and camera angles we began to understand what worked and what didn’t work for this elegant product. Beckett’s London Dry Gin is wonderfully unique, it is the only gin in the world infused with Juniper berries from England. Juniper berries are on a steep decline in England and Beckett’s are doing their bit to help to save Juniper from local extinction, they have taken on a “long-term project in conjunction with the National Trust and the Forestry Commission, to create a new sustainable population of juniper on Juniper Top in Surrey”.
There are many difficulties involved in photographing glass, especially glass with foil labelling but it is possible with a few tricks we have up our sleeve, and we and our client were very happy with the results.
